Parade Information

Greetings,

Thank you for committing to participate in the City of College Park’s 46th Annual Christmas parade themed, “Parading Through the Decades”!!! This year we’d like to congratulate our 2022 Grand Marshal Kai Lightner, who is a Professional Rock Climber and youth advocate.

 

The parade route will depart from Truist Bank (on Main Street) traveling down Main Street, ending on Vesta Ave.

IMPORTANT!

Parade Participants will start lining up at College St. and Yale Ave.

 

Section A – Please enter at Truist Bank (3857 Main Street) 

Sections B & C –  John Wesley Ave (Proceed to College Park Regional Health Center- 1920 John Wesley Ave.


Please note if there is inclement weather the parade will be canceled.


You must be on site by 9:30 a.m. to participate. The parade will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m. noon. Early arrival is requested to ensure safety and proper group line up. Please check in with your assigned Section Leader, upon arrival. “Parade RULES”

1. Parking in designated area only for drop offs!

2. Distribution or throwing of merchandise or articles by any participant is allowed along the parade route. This includes candy, trinkets, and community friendly items only please.

3. Each group or participant must have a leader at the parade site by 8:30 a.m. to assist your group.

4. Please know your assigned entry # upon check in. (see attachment for entry #)

5. Award Presentations and equine award announcements will be presented near College Park City Hall.

6. Please remind supporters to gather at the announcement areas for awards.

7. Music: Community oriented music. No profanity or suggestive attire allowed.

8. Parade judging will begin promptly upon group arrival. Please prepare for moving performances.

 

Specialty Awards

Trophies will be awarded for Mayor's Choice Award, Best Performance, Most Festive, Most Participation, Recreation & Cultural Arts Award, Art Award, Recreation Award and Best Theme Presentation.

❖ Best Float Contest: 1st place and 2nd Place

❖Judging will begin promptly at 9:30 am, upon arrival.
